Objectives of Science Class

The main objective of science class is to explore, learn about, and attempt to understand how the world around us works. We will do this in class by using a "systematic" and evidence based methods to question, observe, and experiment with the natural world and phenomena that surround us.

Why teach?

Teaching is something that I always thought I wanted to or could do. I always had an interest in helping those around me better understand the topics we were discussing in school, especially when it came to math or science. Science always was a favorite of mine because I really enjoy the process of discovery and especially experimentation.

Personal/Background:

I grew up in Chattanooga, TN where I attended Notre Dame High School and started working for Outback Steakhouse before Leaving for Cookeville, TN to attend Tennessee Technological University. While in college I had to work to pay for school and my living expenses, so I continued to work at the local Outback Steakhouse as a cook, where I met my wife Kelley.

Since then we moved to Newnan, GA where we set our roots and have started our careers and family. I started teaching in 2008 at Starr's Mill High School, where I taught fifteen years. Kelley started working as a real estate agent in 2006 and is currently the owner or her own firm here in Newnan. We have three kids Shelby (2009), Grayson (2014), and Cameron (2016).

My own personal hobbies include hiking, restoration projects around the house, and cars.
